CHED scholarship 2019 open until 30 Apr

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is still accepting applications for the CHED Scholarship 2019 via Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs per CMO 13 s. 2014) of authorized public and private higher education institutions (HEIs) for incoming freshmen and students already in college for school year 2019-2020.


Who may apply:

1. Incoming freshmen and college level students who are Filipino citizens and may either be:

  • Senior high school graduate and/or candidate for graduation

  • Senior high school student who passed ALS/PEPT

  • College students with earned units in college


2. Any student whose parents or guardian have a combined annual gross income not exceeding PhP 300,000. In highly exceptional cases where income exceeds PhP 300,000, the CHEDRO StuFAP Committee shall determine the merits of the application


3. Any student who avails of only one CHED Scholarship of financial assistance program


4. Any student who is not a graduate of any degree program




Documentary requirements for incoming freshmen:

Senior high school graduate

  • Photocopy of grades in 12th grade and original certificate of general weighted average (GWA from the principal


Candidate for graduation in senior high school

  • Photocopy of grades in 12th grade (first semester) and original certificate of general weighter average (GWA), in percentage, from the principal; grade must reach a minimum of 75% or its equivalent

  • Photocopy of grades in 11th grade (first and second semesters) and original certificate of general weighted average (GWA) from the principal; grades must not be lower than 75%


Accreditation and Equivalency Test passer

  • Photocopy of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) accreditation and equivalency test certificate or certificate of rating for secondary level from the Department of Education (DepEd)

  • Photocopy of diploma from the DepEd


Philippine Educational Placement Test passer

  • Photocopy of certificate of rating for secondary level from DepEd

  • Photocopy of diploma from the DepEd


Requirements for college level students:

  • Photocopy of grades in all subjects in completed semesters and certificate of total general weighted average (GWA) in percentage from the registrar



Other requirements:

1. Proof of income (any of the following):

  • Latest income tax return (ITR) of parents or guardian, or

  • Certificate of tax exemption from the Bureau of Internal Revenu (BIR), or

  • Case study from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), or

  • Affidavit of 'No Income,' or

  • Certificate of Indigency from barangay, or

  • Latest copy of contract for children of OFWs and seafarers


2. Certificate of Good Moral Character from the guidance counselor or principal of last school attended.



After you have met all qualifications and have satisfied all requirements, check of your desired course fits in the CHED priority courses list. Make sure that you qualify and have accomplished StuFAPs Application Form 01 from any public or private higher education institution. For those who intend to enroll in state universities or colleges (SUCs), you may directly submit your application to the concerned SUC (see CHEDRO directory).


Application period for CHED Scholarship 2019 is from February to April 30. Applications with complete documents will be included in the ranking and selection of beneficiaries.
