Voting, it is your basic right, Kabayan. But you are unsure if your vote will really make a difference. So, should you vote or not? Your vote will always make a difference, remember that; therefore you should vote.
You should vote because you want services that are responsive, that work for you and will continue to work for you--education & childcare, basic income for all, roads, bridges, & transport, healthcare, local amenities--because your government, national and local, runs all these services. Your vote in a general or local elections, or a referendum will send a message about what sort of Antique you want and expect.
The moral significance of voting:
a. It is your voice and your voice matters in this space. Not voting means you're giving up your voice and that space.
b. It gives you the opportunity to be part of a decision-making process that directly affects your life. Not voting means you allow others to decide for you.
c. Voting is your say on issues you care about. Not voting is like keeping your mouth shut.
d. Voting means that people's voice remains supreme. Low voter turn out could endanger democracy.
e. Voting makes politicians accountable to the people--you.
